The dreaded potty training! I have always heard how awful potty training can be so I was not excited for the day to come. The past few months Ivy has been showing lots of interest in the potty. I have been thinking she was ready to potty train but I was not ready to take it on. I finally geared up for it, I had to mentally prepare and kind of clear or schedule for a few days.
So we officially started last week and it has not been as horrible as I anticipated.
We stayed home for two straight days and Ivy pranced around with a bare bum. After those two days I was thinking we were doing great. So I put her in undies. Throughout the day I noticed wetness...not a ton of pee, just a little in her undies. I then realized maybe we hadn't been doing so great. It is pretty embarrassing because my tile floor was incredibly dirty and a kept seeing spots on it and I just thought it was dirty from the days prior. Long story short...I think Ivy was peeing on the floor and I was not realizing it. After a good floor scrubbin we were back in business.
We had a potty sticker chart and Ivy loved it. She got to put a sticker on when she used the potty and she got a mini m&m every time she tried to use the potty. We did this for three days and then she really got the hang of things. We pretty well lived in the bathroom but it was worth it. We are still a work in progress but Ivy is doing great.
