Wind Storm

We have had a couple of very busy days. Late Wedn night there was a wind storm in our area. It started around 3am and lasted about 12 hours. We got no sleep because the wind was so loud. We lost power right away and did not get it back for 24 hours. Here are a few pics of the house and yard.
The vinyl fence on the side of the house had a little damage. You can kinda see all the crap on the lawn. There were hundreds of roof shingles blowing around along with trash and branches. We lost the mailbox. The whole back wood fence fell over. Along with the neighbors. So all this land is three yards...all with no fences up.This is the neighbor across the street. Their tree got up rooted and cracked the sidewalk. Our roof had damage too. But not anything like others in the neighborhood. The hot tub on the deck suffered as well. And something hit my mother in laws car and she has a dent.

So we had no power when we woke up on Thurs. I got ready for work and when I went to leave Ty's parents wouldn't let me drive to work alone because the winds were so strong. I got Ty up to come with me to the office and boy was I glad. The freeway and roads were crazy. Semi's were tiped over from the winds! We got to the office to find that our power was out there too.
We were able to forward our phone calls to our cells and somewhat work. Most of our customers live in Davis county so we knew we were in a very busy day. After Thurs and Friday we think we have submitted over 60 property claims. It was not a very fun day to be an insurance agent.

We were hoping things would calm down this week since we are heading out of town, but knowing our luck that wouldn't happen. It snowed a little over the weekend...meaning all those people with roof damage can now have water leaking in their homes. More claims. And now we are hearing that another wind storm is coming tonight.

Our trip to Cali this week is very well deserved after this is over.
