18 Months

I can't believe Ivy is already 1 and a half. The past 18 months have passed too fast.
Having Ivy in our life is the best thing that has ever happened to us. She brings such a light to our home and she the funniest little girl. She is not my baby anymore...she is a full blown toddler! Crazy.

Ivy is learning more and more each day. The past few months have been so much fun watching her discover and explore new things. She understands what we say and she is the best little helper. She is talking up a storm. She says sentences, usually something like: "I want more." She repeat lots of words back to us. I feel her vocabulary is expanding everyday. Ivy is showing interest in the potty and is always talking about pee pee and stinky poo poo on the potty. I am not sure I am ready to tackle that before the baby comes...but she does sit on the potty a lot, but no action yet. Ivy loves to be around other kids although we still struggle with grabbing other kids faces. We are really working on being soft and gentle. It has gotten much better the past month or so but we are not all the way there. But she really is sweet and tender hearted. She loves to hug my belly and say hi to the baby. Ill ask for a kiss and she will kiss right on the lips (seriously the cutest and sweetest thing every) and if she kisses me she walks over to dad to kiss him too and the belly gets lots of kisses too. Ivy is so beautiful! I know I am her mother and bias but seriously she is cute. I can't get enough her. We have our hard moments and tough days but I look at that face and see my sweet girl and its over. She has my heart! (and daddy's too)

Ivy loves:
Being outside
Playing with other kids
Listen to songs on the iPad
Eating otterpops
Talking
Walking with her eyes closed
Putting her shoes on
Babies
Playing in the fridge
Going to the park
Being with mom and dad
Having all the attention on her
Pushing her baby stroller
Throwing balls
Going on swings and slides
Taking bubble baths
Dancing
Folding her arms for prayers

I feel that Ivy and I are in a good routine in our day to day life. I wake up to the cute girl calling for me. She is so sweet for calling for me instead of crying each morning. We normally have breakfast right away and then play with dad while I get ready for the day. We say bye to dad and send him off to work and get Ivy all dolled up for the day. Ivy usually asks to get in the car each morning when she gets bored, normally around ten. She we try to head out around then, either do errands or make plans with friends. We stay out until lunch and come home to eat and do nap. Naps are awesome and I never want Ivy to stop napping. Its amazing what you can get done in two hours with no children around. Anyway, that's besides the point. After nap we play at home or outside in the yard and get dinner started and wait for dad to get home from work. We love when dad comes home. We have dinner and hang out as a family most evenings. Play, bath and bed.
Sounds like the life right? I am really enjoying it!! We will really be thrown for a loop when we have the baby so we are trying to enjoy our last few months as a family of three.
