Ivy 2.5

Our big girl Ivy is 2 and a half now. She is such a big girly. 2 going on 16. The amount of personality, animation love, emotion, fun, sassiness and sweetness in this girl is overwhelming.

There is so much to say about this two and a half year old! Ivy is just a happy girl. She loves to giggle and play. Some of her favorite things right now are princesses, swinging, peppa pig, spaghetti, fruit snacks, being chased, playing hide and seek, running fast, going on drives to see Robert and Rose (they were cows out in a field by our house and one day they were gone and replaced with two horses), watching Frozen and Cinderella, playing with Gwen, cuddling, being tickled on her tummy, playing with her doll house, swimming at the rec center, being with her grandparents and helping mom around the house.
There is much I want to remember about Ivy at this age. She says the funniest things. I don't know where she comes up with most the things that cross her mind. The way her mind works is pure perfection. eg. We always give the girls a treat after Family Home Evening. Tonight she wanted ice cream and she said, direct quote, "mom the prophet said I can have sprinkles on my ice cream." Serioulsy? How cute and sneaky is that. I love it. Ivy also has a great memory. It amazes me the things she will remember! She loves to learn and sing. One of my favorite things Ivy does right now is at bed time. It is her way of stalling bedtime and it works every time because I can't get enough of it. We always sing a few songs in the girls room and Ivy goes over to the night light to "turn the song on." She just touches the light and says its on. Then she continues to make up her own song, usually about princesses or she makes up words, one of her favorite songs is "seep op" (I have no idea what it is...but she loves singing about it). She runs and dances around the room and laughs her head off and that gets Gwen giggling and then everyone is wound up for bedtime. So fun right?
Ivy is so much fun and usually such a sweetie, but she has lots of fight and sassiness. She loves everything to be on her terms. We struggling with listening the first time around and sharing with friends and Gwen has its challenges. But we are working at it everyday. One of our hardest things right now is nursery at church. She doesn't like it and will not let me leave. It is a hard one, but I figure there are worse problems to have then my sweet little girl not wanting to leave me.
I try to put Ivy down for a nap everyday around two. Some days she will sleep and others she wont. I'm not ready to give them up. Although, when she skips her nap bedtime is earlier and easier so I guess that has its advantages too.
Our happy Ivy girl pretty well rules the house with the help of her little sister. We can not get enough of that sweet smile and tender heart. Boy do we love Ivy. And I can't wait to see what she does next!
