Sometimes trying to entertain two toddlers is a difficult task. The girls and I try to have an outing and/or an activity planned everyday. It is so easy to have them just sit and watch tv all day but we try to limit to one show a day and so that leaves lots of time in the day.
Gwen does a great job just playing and exploring things around the house. She is always happy to find some of dad's socks and wear them around the house.
Ivy is another story. She likes to be entertained by mom all day. Its exhausting and I'm always racking my brain for new things for her to do. Things that she will enjoy that Gwen can do too without making too much of a mess. Thank goodness for pinterest!
One of our activities a few weeks ago was playing in shaving cream.
We laid a table cloth out and put shaving cream all over it and let the girls go crazy. Ivy loved it she got all messy and even her Barbie got in on the action. Gwen was so funny. She would dip her finger in and giggle and then walk away. She had more fun jumping on the tramp in her diaper.
We love going for walks but its been too hot. This morning we were up and at 'em early so we walked around the block. Our neighborhood is really hilly so it makes walks hard and tiring for mom! And every walk requires a popsicle. No matter the time of day.
This girls sure love playing together!
Being in our new area has been an adjustment for the girls and I. We love our neighborhood and having a pool but we miss having such good friends so close. We still get out and play with friends but I feel this summer we have spent lots of time at home as a family, which has been great, but challenging in staying busy and entertaining the little ones. It has been really good for me and the girls. We really all have a great bond and I love just playing with them.
