This year was our first year of doing Christmas on our own. It was different but great. It is a funny thing raising a family and trying to set your own traditions. It feels so grown up! Since we had been so busy leading up to Christmas we were excited for Christmas to come so we could just relax in our new home and enjoy being together.
On Christmas Eve we took the girls to the store to pick out a toy for a child in need. It was pretty fun for the kids to do and teach them about service and the true meaning of Christmas. We made spaghetti for dinner and read some Christmas books and read some scriptures before watching a Christmas movie. We blew up the air mattress in our room and let the girls sleep in our room with us. They loved it! This will be a new Christmas tradition at our house!
The girls were so excited in the morning! The wouldn't even look up for pictures.
After we opened gifts we made a big breakfast and let the girls open and play with all their new toys. We face timed with some family and then watched a few new movies that Santa brought us.
The girls even helped me prepare Christmas dinner. They are always great helpers!
My parents got into town late afternoon. We got to open more gifts and play with more new stuff. And we got to show my parents the new house. We loved having them stay with us for a few days.
