The nursery

I have been working like a crazy person on the nursery. I do not know why it is so important...but it is. Every day after work I have had a project to work on in the nursery. Ty has been such a trooper with helping me hang things and just with putting up with me in general.
I had a vision of the nursery a few months ago...and I have been running with that ever since. I was going for a vintage vibe, with a girlie shabby chic feel. Ha ha call it what you want. I love it!!
So...I love to refinish furniture, buy old cheap things and fix it up. I found the dresser at the DI. It was a light wood and the top was is pretty bad condition. I think it was $50. My dad was awesome and he helped me sand the crap out the thing. Then me and my mom painted the dresser cream and after it dried I stained it with a glaze. I replaced two of the handles with cute pink hardware. I also took the wood panels out and covered them with batting and fabric.

My mom and aunt are amazing and they made all the bedding! I picked out the fabric, which was so hard by the way. Not only did they make the bedding but they also re-covered the chair pad and made the changing pad on the dresser. Now the glider chair...I found it at a yard sale for $15. Like I said my aunt and mom made the pad. I painted and stained the chair to match the dresser.

I made the paper wreath a few months ago with my sisters, it adds so much to the nursery. I got a cheap lamp at Wal-mart and my mom helped me ruffle some fabric to cover the lamp shade. My sister and I made the bow holder with an old picture frame. The big white mirror is my mother in laws. It was in the room already and she is letting me us it in the nursery.
Now, for those that know me...I love shoes. So does my cute aunt. At my shower my aunt gave me an awesome gift, a box of shoes! How fun is that? And to top it off she included a picture frame that says, "shoes can change a girls life." I hung that frame up and included two shelves under it to display shoes. As you can see...Ivy is very loved. She has a fully loaded closet.

The nursery is about ready. I have just a few final touches. I need to put pictures in the frames and add a few final things. I can not believe we are getting this close to our little girls debut into the world.
Hope you enjoy the nursery.
