Bear Lake

I am falling behind on my posts! We went to Bear Lake with Tyler's family a few weeks ago for a family get together. Louise's cousin has a cabin up there and she was kind enough to let us stay there for a long weekend. We had almost the whole family there plus a few additional kids. It was crazy with all nine kids under ten years old...but overall it was a great time. Ty, Ivy and I spent most our time on the deck that over looked the lake. The view was so pretty and the weather was great. We did go to the pool a few times with all the kids. Ivy just loved watching all her cousins run around and play. The first night we did not sleep good so we skipped out on the lake to nap. It was Ivy's first time sleeping in the pack n play. We usually have her in her sleep n rock when away from home but she grew out of it. Instead of buying a pack n play we borrowed Ty's parnets to test it out. Ivy did not like it. Everytime I would lay her in it she would wake up and cry, so I would pick her up and she would fall right back to sleep so I would lay her back down and same thing again. After doing this over and over she was awake for a day at 3am. She ended up sleeping in the bed with Ty and I next night, which is something I said I would never do. But hey it worked. As long as she was sleeping and I was sleeping I was happy. After catching up on our sleep we did some four wheeling and some major relaxing while watching the Olympics. And of course we went into town to get rasberry shakes. Everyone took off by Sunday afternoon except us and Ty's parents. We all decided to stay until Monday. We all enjoyed the quiet cabin. I even did a puzzle...it was awesome.
It was a successful trip to Bear Lake. We hope we can do it again next year.

You do what you gotta do...I swore I would make my child sleep in a crib/pack n play and Evie ended up sleeping in a rocking swing all night long for about a two month period so I could actually sleep. And she sleeps fine now! Sounds like a great trip. Ivy is adorable.
