Ivy's Two

Ivy turned two this month! (My post is way late.) But here is Ivy's two year old update and report.
What a fun and challenging age two is. Seriously though, Ivy is so much fun. The huge personality inside that little girl is unbelievable. She is such a ham!
At Ivy's 2 year check up she was 31 & 1/2 inches tall and only 21 pounds. Her doctor is a little concerned since she has dropped weight since her last check up.  Our little girl need a to start eating better. She has always been a good eater but the last few months she has not been eating meals as well and always jut wants to snack.  Kinda my bad. We will be working on this...
Ivy is a talker. She speaks full sentences and she understands too much for her ripe age of two. Nothing can get pass her, she is very observant. Ty and I argue on who she got that from.  Ivy is a smart girl. She knows her ABC's and enjoys singing them super fast. She counts to fourteen, kinda a random number to stop on..but we are working on getting to twenty. Ivy loves loves loves singing songs and nursery rhymes. Some of her favorites include: twinkle twinkle, itsy bitsy spider, this little piggy, give little monkeys, walking walking, grand old duke of York, hockie poky, teddy bear song, wise man, I am child of god, Johnny whoops, wheels on the bus, and popcorn popping. And that was just to name a few.
Ivy loves being a big sister! She is always looking out for Gwen and it is really sweet. She loves to let us know what Gwen is doing. Sister is sleeping, sister awake, sister crying, sister laughing, sister sad and sister is smiling are said a lot around here.
Ivy knows what she wants and she is determined to get it. It is hard to tell her no when she is so stinking cute, persistent, and polite. But we still have to do it.
A typical day for Ivy goes as follows: she gets up around 7:45 and calls for mom. She is still sleeping in a crib. Then we usually eat breakfast, lately she always want a waffle. We will play a little in the playroom and with dad and get ready for the day. Ivy is getting a lot better at independent play, which is good while I'm nursing. After all us girls are ready we either run errands or have a play date before lunch. Home for lunch and play and then nap around two. Which the past month naps have gotten shorter and this week she is refusing to take a nap. So we will see about that. After nap we usually play or go for a walk and get dinner ready. Then dad gets home and we have family time, dinner and bath. Then it's off to bed around eight or eight thirty. She lives a pretty great life.
Ivy favorite things right now:
Going to the park to swing
Dede, her blanket
Being in her playroom
Playing in her teepee
Playing with her kitchen
Jumping on her tramp
Loving sister
The color green
Taking care of her baby dolls
Helping mom in the kitchen
Giving dad kisses
Eating cheese, yogurt and hot dogs.
Going to story time
Taking walks
Riding the four wheeler
Holding her purse
Reading books
Being with her friends
Face timing grandparents and cousins
Seeing animals, especially cows
Being chased
Bubbles
Being outside
Cuddling with mom and dad
I could go on and on about Ivy. She is the happiest child ever. So fun and full and energy. Yes we have challenging times everyday. But our happy moments outshine our bad ones. She has to have mom close and does not let me leave pretty much ever. Sometimes she is rough with sister and friends and she likes to test the limits on everything. But she is learning more and more everyday. Ivy is such a light in our lives and in others as well. She is so beautiful and hilarious and I can not image life without her. We love you Ivy!
