Big Girl Bed

We made the transition to a toddler bed. Yay! Teri let me borrow their toddler bed since they went using it. We put in the bedroom a few months ago. Ivy seemed excited about it so I thought it would be an easy switch. I was wrong!

Ivy did not want to sleep in her big girl bed. So we just left the bed in her room and revisited it every week or so. We didn't push or anything but we talked about it a lot. We were always telling her how her cousins slept in big girl beds and grandma. Ha.

One day after watching Frozen Ivy noticed that Elsa slept in a big girl bed and it was pretty much easy after that.

We did our normal bedtime routine and put her in the big bed. She had me help her get "cozy," put her blanket on her and I closed the door and left her to sleep.  She came out once and we told her to go to sleep so she went back into her room and closed the door. She is such a big girl.

She is also napping in her big girl bed! She will occasionally wander into the hallway but she will go back to bed after we tell her to. When she wakes up from naps and in the morning she usually say, "I did it." Referring to she slept in her bed. A few nights when I have checked on her she was asleep on the floor next to her bed. So sweet!

I can not believe how big my girl is getting. I love seeing her little self in her big toddler bed.

(As a side note: she loves jumping on her bed)
